ames Quiller Woodward was a farmer in Edgefield County, South Carolina, but moved to Aiken County to work in the Graniteville Mill which opened in 1845. He died in 1929 in Aiken County, South Carolina. His father William served with the 1st South Carolina Volunteers in the Civil War. His wife's grave states that he is buried in the Confederate Cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina, but the records were burned when Sherman's troops came through Columbia in 1865. He died June 16, 1864.
